We acknowledge the Dharawal People and their descendants as the Traditional Custodians of this land. People of the Gweagal Clan of the Dharawal Nation met Lieutenant James Cook and those aboard HMS Endeavour when it arrived off Kurnell on 29 April 1770. Gweagal people also met the First Fleet when its ships arrived at Kurnell between 18 January and 20 January 1788.
